Skilled Labor Technician for Landscape Construction

Peak is looking for a Skilled Labor Technician who wants to help us build amazing outdoor living spaces, rotating through our various divisions.

Are you great on loader and skid-steer, but you also love hardscaping?

Are you a solid carpenter, but you also love planting trees?

We have a lot of great projects coming up this year, and we are looking for a hard-working, skilled individual who has the skills and experience to help us build them. Some of the skills we’re looking for:

  • Hardscaping: lifting, laying and cutting stone for retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, walkways, pool copings, etc.
  • Carpentry: building pergolas, decks, framing pool houses, carpentry features on green roofs.
  • Site Work-leveling and grading surfaces to prepare job sites
  • Softscaping: planting, mulching, pruning.
  • Heavy equipment operation: loader, skidsteer, backhoe is a plus.

We are looking for an experienced grounds maintenance foreperson who knows how to run a hyper-efficient crew safely, while meticulously manicuring commercial properties.

Job Summary:

Our Hardscape team builds everything from retaining walls to outdoor kitchens to walkways to pool copings.. We work with an assortment of hardscaping materials and take pride in our projects. The Hardscape Foreman must be able to lead a team to create beautiful hardscapes, safely, on time and on budget. The Foreman must have the following skills and attributes:

● Ability to lead and train a crew to complete all projects on time, on budget with minimal workmanship issues.

● Lead by example in the areas of workmanship and safety, with a strong focus on enforcing all safety standards and training on job sites.

● Ability to read plans and build projects in accordance with the specifiications

● Must be able to work with heavy equipment, retaining walls, brick pavers, and conduct flat work, as well as drainage and site work.

● Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed

● Cut, shape, and smooth material according to measurements

● Be able to prioritize, execute, and supervise daily on-site tasks

● 5+ years’ experience

● Knowledge of installation of pavers (Cambridge, Nicolock, Techo-Bloc), cultured stone, retaining walls, finished concrete, raised patios, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, coping, chimneys, fire places etc.

● Must have valid driver’s license OR reliable transportation to and from shop/ job site

● Must be able to speak and communicate efficiently in English

● Must be timely and responsible

● Ability to work in a team-based environment

● Must be able to lift 80+ lbs

● Ability to set up a job and provide measurements for material orders

● Responsible for keeping a clean and neat workspace (job site, shop, trucks, etc.)

Site work is the crucial first step in setting up the construction site. During this process, we create a level, graded surface, and add any necessary drainage or conduit. All of the teams to follow rely on the accuracy of this work. Our Site Work Labor position assists the Site Work Foreman in completing all tasks related to setting up the site properly

The Site Work Technician must have:

• The ability to help install footings, drainage, and infrastructure for landscape construction projects.
• Machine and excavation experience.
• Ability to shovel and rake sites in preparation of construction.
• Ability to work outside in most weather conditions for full days.
• Safety focused-participates in safety trainings and runs sites with a focus on safety.
