For almost 30 years, Peak Environmental has been the leader in complex residential and commercial outdoor living and landscape development projects in Saratoga County. We are looking for an experienced individual to join Peak Environmental as a Site Work Superintendent! We’re looking for a hands-on leader to layout and prep our sites ahead of our core group of tradesman. If you excel at blueprint reading, site layout and leading a team, then this is a great job for you!

As a Site Crew Leader, you won’t just be managing – you’ll be in the thick of it! You’ll lead your crew, engineering work sites for efficiency, and ensuring every detail meets our high standards of Craftsmanship. Your day-to-day will involve a mix of hands-on work, estimating, planning and leadership:

The ideal person for this role should have the following skills and attributes:

  • You are a Manager and a Leader who holds yourself and others accountable.
  • You can make decisions in the best interests of our customers and our company.
  • You are very adept at construction math calculations, with the ability to prepare sites accurately for all trades.
  • You have a strong ability to plan ahead, set goals for you and your crew, and engineer work sites for efficiency.
  • Ability to lay out and install footings, drainage, and infrastructure for complex landscape construction projects.
  • Ability to read blueprints, lay out infrastructrure, measure and set grades with a laser transit.
  • Ability to lead a crew, working hands-on, with a strong focus on safety, workmanship and production goals.
  • Strong heavy equipment operation and excavation experience is required.
  • You are safety focused at all times and you strictly enforce all safety protocols.
  • A CDL license is helpful, but not required.

We are looking for an experienced individual to join Peak Environmental as a Utilities Expert.  We’re looking for a hands-on leader who knows irrigation systems, lighting and audio. As a Site Crew Leader, you won’t just be managing – you’ll be in the thick of it! You’ll lead your crew, ensuring every detail meets our high standards of Craftsmanship.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation, programming, and servicing of irrigation systems
  • Install and troubleshoot low-voltage landscape lighting and outdoor audio systems
  • Ensure all utility work complies with project specifications, safety standards, and local codes
  • Communicate with project managers, sales, and clients to ensure high-quality execution and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate job records, work orders, and service reports
  • Train and mentor crew members to ensure skill development and efficiency
  • Monitor jobsite cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and safe work practices

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in landscape construction with a focus on irrigation and lighting systems
  • Proficient in the installation and programming of major irrigation systems (e.g., Rain Bird, Hunter)
  • Experience with low-voltage lighting systems and outdoor audio (e.g., Alliance, FX Luminaire)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

🔨 What You’ll Do:

  • Hardscaping: Build patios, walkways, retaining walls, steps, outdoor kitchens, and other masonry/stone features
  • Site Work: Grading, excavation, drainage installation, and base prep
  • Irrigation: Install and troubleshoot irrigation systems, valves, and controllers
  • Softscaping: Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, sod, and mulch to bring landscapes to life
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Use skid steers, excavators, loaders, and other machinery safely and efficiently

✅ Skills & Experience We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of experience in landscape construction
  • Proven skills in hardscaping, irrigation installation, and planting
  • Ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment (loader, mini-ex, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and site prep
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
  • Ability to read landscape plans and follow instructions with attention to detail
  • Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Position Overview:

As a Softscape Technician, you will be responsible for the layout, installation and maintenance of landscape planting projects. You must possess strong plant knowledge, be familiar with proper planting techniques, and have an eye for design and spatial planning. This role will also involve plant procurement, coordination with nurseries, and hands-on installation and maintenance of plant materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret landscape design plans and execute planting layouts accurately on-site
  • Select, source, and procure plant materials according to project specifications and seasonal availability
  • Ensure proper handling, planting, and aftercare of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and groundcovers
  • Maintain a high standard of plant health and appearance through proper spacing, mulching, pruning, watering, and fertilization techniques
  • Collaborate with landscape designers and project managers to implement cohesive, beautiful planting designs
  • Perform on-site plant layout, adjusting as needed for aesthetics and environmental conditions
  • Monitor and report on plant performance and coordinate any necessary replacements
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas, tools, and equipment
  • Train or lead other team members in softscape practices as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in landscape installation with a focus on softscape
  • Strong plant identification skills and understanding of plant zones, soil types, and sun/shade requirements
  • Experience in reading and implementing landscape plans and plant schedules
  • Knowledge of proper planting techniques, irrigation principles, and plant maintenance best practices
  • Ability to assess plant health and diagnose common plant issues (pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies)
  • Experience with plant procurement and vendor relations a plus
  • Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs, dig, and work in various weather conditions
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Valid driver’s license required (clean driving record preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with local native and drought-tolerant plant species
  • Experience in garden design or ability to assist with on-site plant selection
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
